2014 Runner Up: Best Adaptive Re-use or Brownfield Project

KIPP Columbus

KIPP is a national network of public charter schools that was founded in 1984 to help children in educationally underserved communities to develop the minds of children to prepare them for college and beyond.  There are currently 162 KIPP schools throughout the country currently serving 58,000 children.  KIPP stands for Knowledge is Power Program.  In February of 2013, KIPP: Columbus and its board members engaged Daimler to assist KIPP with the acquisition of the 125-acre Bridgeview Golf Course to design and develop a new elementary school.  The elementary and middle school would be the first building of several planned for the KIPP Campus. NAIOP Members Moody Nolan and EMH & T participated in this project.
