2014 Winner: Most Creative Deal Structure

Ohio University Dublin Integrated Academic Building

In 2012, Ohio University decided to expand their campus to Dublin, Ohio.  As plans for the new campus began to take shape, the University decided to expand their Physician's Assistant program to this new setting.  Through a competitive bid process, the University chose The Daimler Group to create the flagship three-story, 86,000 square foot building to house the PA program as well as other academic programs.   The Daimler Group partnered with Talisman Capital Partners, the investment and philanthropic arm of Cardinal Health founder and Ohio University alum Robert D. Walter.  Due to accreditation requirements for the PA Program, the building was required to be completed by April 2015.  In order to meet this deadline, the City of Dublin was able to fast track many necessary approvals and the ground breaking occurred in April 2014.  While the schedule is tight, the building is well on its way to an on time completion. NAIOP members Moody Nolan and EMH&T participated in this project.
